Discover Ontario Bats

Join CVC and bat expert Derek Morningstar as we survey and monitor for bats in Silver Creek Conservation Area.

Meet us at the Silver Creek Outdoor Education Centre to learn about bats in Ontario. We will then take a walk through the forest where we will see the tools and techniques used to research these amazing night-flying creatures. Special nets will be deployed in the forest, and hopefully, we’ll be able to see some bats up close! This is a night-time event that may require walking on uneven terrain.

What to bring

  • Flashlight/headlamp
  • Bug spray
  • Dress for the weather
  • Appropriate footwear for hiking

Event Notes

  • Washroom facilities will not be available.
