One of our greatest privileges is to work with volunteers and community partners on numerous projects throughout the watershed. Many of the people we work with have been part of our environmental work for years – through local fundraising, tree plantings, work days, event support, and numerous other projects.

Only last week, on March 20th, we held our annual Friends of the Credit Conservation Awards at BraeBen Golf and Country Club in Mississauga. Over 90 guests celebrated with several CVC Board members and staff to recognize important contributions by individuals, groups, small businesses, and more who have made a significant contribution to environmental health in our watershed. A total of 19 awards were presented that evening. The dedication and commitment of these winners, and all CVC volunteers and partners, motivate us and remind us of the amazing power of community.

We will be profiling some of the individual 2013 award winners in this blog in future months. In the meantime, we’re sharing an article featured previously in “In the Hills” magazine about two special stewards in our watershed, Wayne and Wanda White. Wayne and Wanda inspire us and after reading this article we are sure they will inspire you!
