Happy National Volunteer Week Credit Valley Conservation Volunteers!

National Volunteer Week pays tribute to the millions of Canadian volunteers who donate their time and energy.  It is the biggest celebration of volunteers and volunteerism this country has.

To our volunteers, Credit Valley Conservation would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for your efforts.  Last year, you and 3,799 other volunteers planted 16,000 trees, removed 1,100 pounds of garbage and 160 bags of garlic mustard, and sampled 4905 fish in the Credit River.  While this week celebrates volunteers, we want you to know your work and support is valued all year around!

If you haven’t volunteered for Credit Valley Conservation yet, we need you.  There are many ways you can help CVC protect and restore the environment:

  • If you are a high school student, apply for CVC’s summer volunteering program, the Conservation Youth Corps
  • Get the employees at your work to dedicate a half days’ work to the environment
  • Come out for a few hours to plant a tree, remove some invasive plants, or sample fish in the Credit River

Here are a few of our Upcoming Events:

Orangeville Earth Day Tree Planting – Saturday, April 21

Mississauga Earth Day Tree Planting – Saturday, April 21

Caledon Tree Planting – Saturday, May 12

Erin Tree Planting – Saturday, June 2

Fairy Lake Father’s Day Tree Planting Festival – Saturday, June 16
