Canada Day is an opportunity to gather with family and friends to celebrate our amazing country and national heritage. It is a special time to celebrate our past, embrace our future and share our pride for all things Canadian, including the great outdoors.
This July 1st, stop by Island Lake Conservation Area to connect with nature and join Canada Day festivities at the park.
Official activities begin at 2 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to come out to the park early and enjoy time on the lake, or a hike on the trails. Bring the family and join a park-wide scavenger hunt or make your own souvenir at our wood branding station. For the more adventurous type, harness your inner lumberjack with axe throwing provided by Far Shot. And of course, savour delicious food from local vendors!
New at Island Lake
Join us as we celebrate the completion of our amazing new waterfront amphitheater! An official opening ceremony and ribbon cutting will take place at 5:30. Following that, visitors can enjoy a concert by The Campfire Poets, a band that covers five decades of classic music from several genres.
Wrap up the night with fireworks over the lake. Admission to the park after 2 p.m. is by donation. Additional activities will be hosted by the Town of Orangeville at Alder Recreation Centre from noon until 5 p.m.
