CVC’s Climate Change Strategy

We’ve all felt the effects of climate change and CVC’s environmental monitoring data is telling the same story. Extreme heat days are on the rise. Warmer winters have allowed pests to survive, expand, and damage habitats. Increasingly, flooding in our region is due to summer thunderstorms. Aquatic habitats are becoming less viable for some fish species because of warming stream temperatures.
As our climate changes, we must respond. We’re proud to announce CVC’s Climate Change Strategy 2019-2023.
The strategy outlines a framework and goals to guide our priority climate change actions with partners, within our community and corporately over the next five years. It provides direction on how we will continue to build climate resiliency through long-term goals and short-term objectives.
The strategy guides us to:
- Lead Science to Guide Management
- Protect Life and Livelihoods
- Grow Thriving Communities
- Increase Awareness to Change Behaviour
- Walk the Talk
- Build Corporate Capacity to Adapt
We invite you to read our Climate Change Strategy and join us as we protect today for resilience tomorrow.
